Evergreen Joy
Ranch Retreat
July 23-27, 2025
A full reset for your body & spirit exploring the theme
Evergreen Joy
cultivating joy amidst all of life’s seasons & challenges
Let’s gather under Colorado’s big skies at a mindfully designed mountain ranch for regenerative movement, wilderness, friendship, and vision.
“The two ALTER Journeys retreats I have attended have been the most transformative trips of my life: renewed energy, new friends who feel like family, and a new way of seeing myself and my future. I’ll be joining many more.”
Our Basecamp
We will rekindle ourselves in rustic luxury at magical Beyul Retreat, in a gorgeous river valley 1-hour outside Aspen, Colorado.
Our light-drenched movement space, farm-to-table meals, and dramatic big sky will inspire fresh creative vision.
Beyul (“Bay•yul”) is a Tibetan word meaning "hidden lands," which honors the idea of real places, as well as a state of mind, in which physical and spiritual worlds unite and illuminate the hidden layers of ourselves.
Explore the wilderness within yourself as you wander trails through forests and meadows, and along creeks, on Beyul’s 32-acres, playfully woven with natural art installations.
Beyul is dog & bike friendly, as an incredible starting point for some of Colorado’s best road and gravel riding, as well as rock climbing & paddleboarding.
Our Journey
Our day begins with easeful mornings for meditation or a walk on a forest trail through our ranch playground, then we gather for a long-form ALTER movement practice—a music-driven, yoga-inspired strength workout, integrating meditation and guided journaling sessions— followed by an energizing farm-to-table brunch.
Afternoons are yours for exploring the vibrant area and what is unfolding in your heart, with a swim in the river running through the ranch, a sauna/cold plunge, a short hike to an alpine lake, a trip to Aspen, or the option of a horseback ride with stunning mountain views, or personal mentorship session with Nicole.
We will gather again for an early evening ALTER restorative and meditation practice followed by a leisurely dinner with rich conversation. Woven with a few surprises...

A note from Nicole
I have searched for over a year for a retreat ranch with the spirit ALTER embodies: soulful, intentional, accessible, profound, and playful. The moment I stepped onto Beyul, I felt that energy. I cannot wait to share it with you, and to witness what unfolds in us immersed in this sacred wilderness.
This is a moment in the world in which it is vital to build spiritual community: like-hearted friends who are our allies as we grow into the bravest, most creative versions of ourselves.
This moment also invites us to become crystal clear on our purpose, how we are uniquely gifted to create and lead, as well as to restore ourselves, in response to this moment.
From my heart to yours, welcome to this retreat.
If your heart is prompting you, make the investment in yourself, and in the friends waiting to meet you.
The transformation begins now.
From here to the mountains of Colorado,
upward, and heartward.
With love,
Nicole

About ALTER Journeys Retreats
I have always been fascinated by the tradition of pilgrimage—a journey shaped with intention but also intentionally open-ended, unsure of its geographic and spiritual twists. Open to possibility.
A time to make space in life for transformation, inspiration, redirection. To be disrupted, de-centered by the size and strangeness of the world, by artistry and traditions and flavors unimagined. To discover and explore deep strangeness. To be recognized, maybe even adopted, by another world. To feel unknown, even to ourselves, and then to feel our way back home with all senses ignited, and to know it for the first time. To be re-named. Revised. Revived.
My life has been shaped by such journeys—by stepping out of the familiar and routine to give time and space for fresh vision, for the heart to open, for attention to sharpen. To get a panoramic view of the map of my life at a given moment—to understand how past chapters have led to this and where the future calls. To hear what the heart demands.
We can find this kind of perspective in moments of prayerful meditation, on a yoga mat, or in an ecstatic sweat—here, now. But deep work, deep knowing, deep transformation can unfold over the course of a journey away from the lives and the work we’re building so we can return—or swerve—more fully ourselves.
I have dreamed of crafting journeys to these places for a tribe that becomes family along the way. Thoughtfully curated, creatively orchestrated, but spacious enough for the soul to wander, to expand. Adventures, feasts, art, wandering, service, sweat, breath, yoga, meditation, contemplation—guided visioning, journaling, and creative challenges—and excessive time to walk along an ocean or stare up into the clouds.
Journeys that weave in the stories and storytellers of a place, its artisans, its ways of spreading a table, and rich time alongside visionaries and peacemakers who are reaching into its past, reaching into the margins, and creating its future. Journeys that bring us home to the radical heart of ourselves. That root us in joy, however the road unfolds.
