Working with Botanicals
Scent is an anchor to soul, a tether to memory.
Plant essences nurture our growth physically and spiritually, and remind—re-heart—us
of the intentions we’re moving toward.
As I dive deeper into learning about our relationship with the earth—as stewards, eaters, farmers, gardeners, and healers—and plants as food, medicine, beauty, I have loved playing and praying with plant oils, as a sensory, bodily way of anchoring into intentions and rituals. I’ve long been fascinated by the tradition of anointing—an ancient practice across many cultures of sanctifying something or someone, with venerated oil.
anoint:
bless, hallow, consecrate
with oil,
to dedicate to service,
to make sacred
Enjoy exploring these meditations inspired by botanicals, as invitations to explore.
I would love to hear what they still, stir, or spark in you.
A guided meditation to anchor into your heart amidst uncertainty, working with Anchor oil, a warm, spicy blend of Lavender, Cedarwood, Frankincense, Cinnamon Bark, Sandalwood, Black Pepper, and Patchouli.
A guided meditation to see in a new light, a different lens, to reframe, working with the oil Adaptive, a welcoming blend of Wild Orange, Lavender, Copaiba, Spearmint, Magnolia, Rosemary, and Neroli.
A guided meditation to navigate a swerve, working with the oil Siberian Fir, a step into a thick forest.
A guided meditation to ground for clarity and energy, working with the grounding, woodsy, slightly smokey oil Copaiba — my favorite.
A guided meditation to cultivate the depth that allows serenity, working with the oil Serenity, a grounding blend of Lavender, Cedarwood, Ylang Ylang, Marjoram, Roman Chamomile Flower, Vetiver Root, Vanilla, and Sandalwood.
